Care Instructions
General Care
Avoid Water Saturation: This product is highly sensitive to moisture. Liquid contact will leave permanent water marks and ring stains on the Duchess satin surface.
Keep Away from Heat: High temperatures can warp the internal foam structure and melt the synthetic polyester fibres. Keep the bag away from radiators, hair dryers, and open flames.
Chemical Safety: Apply perfumes, hairsprays, and body lotions fully before handling your bag. These products contain alcohol and chemicals that can permanently discolour the satin finish.
Cleaning
Spot Clean Only: Address accidental spills immediately. Do not submerge, machine wash, or dry clean this bag. Treat spills immediately before they set into the satin weave.
Dabbing Technique: Use a clean, dry, white microfibre cloth to gently dab away fresh liquids. Never rub or scrub the satin, as this will fray the delicate weave and permanently ruin the lustre.
Handling Dried Stains: For dried-on dirt, use a barely damp cloth with a tiny drop of eco-friendly, mild detergent. Gently dab the area, then follow with a dry cloth to absorb any remaining moisture instantly.
Lining Care: If the internal Jacquard lining gets dirty, gently pull it away from the outer satin shell. Use a barely damp cloth with a tiny drop of mild detergent to dab the spot, then air-dry completely before tucking it back in.
No Steamers: Do not use heavy steam or standard irons to remove creases, as water droplets can cause spotting. In case of severe creasing, iron carefully on the inside (lining side) on a very low, dry silk setting with a pressing cloth.
Handling & Use
Protect the Weave: Duchess satin is prone to snagging. Be mindful of rough surfaces, sharp jewellery, sequins, or abrasive clothing textures when wearing the bag.
Weight Limits: Do not overfill the bag. Excessive weight can stretch the satin seams and permanently deform the internal foam structure.
Weather Alert: Guard the bag against heavy rain. If it accidentally gets wet, blot it dry immediately with a soft towel and let it air-dry naturally at room temperature.
Storage
Storage: Because this style is unstructured, do not hang it by its handles for long periods, as this will permanently stretch and warp the straps. Store it lying flat, or gently stuffed with acid-free tissue paper to preserve its shape.
Use a Dust Bag: Store the item inside the included breathable cotton dust bag to protect the polyester fibres from settling dust and accidental snags. Never store it in a plastic bag, which traps moisture and causes mildew.
Avoid Compression: Do not pile heavy items or other bags on top of your Clara bag, as heavy pressure can create stubborn, permanent creases in the high-density Duchess satin.
Environment: Keep your storage area cool, dark, and completely dry. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight will fade the rich colours over time.
